April and Ryan are married!! These two met at The University of Northern Iowa – they were both the first people each other had met on campus! Ryan transferred schools after a semester, but they remained connected through social media, which ultimately reconnected them in 2017. Fast forward to today, the couple lives together in Northfield, MN with their spoiled rescue pup, Lola.
They had originally planned to get married at The Gardens of Castle Rock in their town of Northfield. However, COVID had different plans! Instead of having 300 guests at their original venue, April and Ryan decided to get married anyway and celebrate in Ryan’s parent’s back yard. They reduced their guest list to immediate family, bridal party and dates, going from 300 to 60 people. And although everything was a “Plan B”, you’d never know it with how beautiful everything turned out! Ryan’s parent’s yard was designed for hosting an event. They had a beautiful space for the ceremony, a patio for cocktail hour, and a large tent with farmhouse tables for the reception. The backdrop for all of the events was a golf course, which was the perfect place for just married portraits! Love defeats COVID, yet again 🙂
