The way that I adored this wedding!!! Sam and Michael found me on Instagram and trusted me with photographing their wedding and engagement photos in two different cities that I’m not familiar with. Both exceeded my expectations ten fold! They did their engagement session in the north suburbs of Chicago (peep their engagement blog here!) and got married in Sam’s home state of Iowa. I had the best time exploring Des Moines the day before their wedding to find the perfect spot for their portraits. Des Moines architecture?! Amazing!
Their wedding took place at the beautiful and historic Hotel Fort Des Moines. The hotel had so much character and was the perfect backdrop for their reception and sunset photos. They didn’t shy away from color and texture for their reception decor and it will forever be one of my favorite designs! I remember walking into the reception space and it took my breath away.
